Corrections & Updates Policy

Corrections & Updates

Bonus terms change without notice. Payment methods disappear. Operators get acquired, rebranded, sanctioned or shut down. A gambling review site is out of date the moment it’s published unless somebody works at keeping it accurate. This page explains how we do that, and what happens when we get something wrong.

Every review displays a “Last checked” date generated automatically from our review log. It is not a hand-typed decoration, and it is never refreshed without an actual check taking place.

How we monitor between checks

  • Automated term monitoring flags changes to operators’ bonus and terms pages for human review.
  • UKGC register monitoring flags licence status changes and published enforcement actions.
  • Reader reports — the fastest and most reliable source we have.
  • Our own test accounts, used for periodic withdrawal spot-checks.

Types of change, and how we mark them

Correction — we published something factually wrong. We fix it, and add a dated note at the foot of the page describing what was wrong and what it now says. We do not silently edit factual errors out of existence.

Correction, 14 March: this review previously stated the welcome bonus carried 35x wagering. The correct figure is 50x. We’ve amended the review and the score has been adjusted from 8.4 to 8.0.

Update — the facts changed, not our reporting of them. The last-updated date changes and, where the change is material (bonus size, wagering, a new withdrawal limit, a licence change), we add a revision note.

Rating change — any movement in a score is logged with the date, the old score, the new score and the reason.

Clarification — we were accurate but unclear. Amended, with a note if the ambiguity was significant.

Retraction — if a piece is fundamentally wrong, we retract it. The page stays live with the retraction notice at the top rather than being deleted, because deleting it hides the error.

Reporting an error

Email [corrections@ukcasinoplay.net] with:

  • the page URL;
  • what’s wrong;
  • what it should say, and where you saw the correct information (a screenshot of the operator’s terms is ideal).

You don’t need any of that to report something — a one-line “the bonus on your Casino X page is wrong” is genuinely useful. The detail just makes us faster.

Our commitments:

  • We acknowledge every correction report within 2 working days.
  • We resolve straightforward factual corrections within 5 working days.
  • We resolve corrections requiring re-testing within 14 working days.
  • We tell you the outcome either way, including when we’ve concluded you were mistaken and why.

Corrections are free to submit and we don’t care whether you’re a reader, a rival affiliate or the operator’s compliance officer. Accuracy is the product.

Operators

Operators may submit corrections through the same channel. Please note:

  • We will correct factual errors promptly on evidence.
  • We will not amend or remove opinion, testing results, or a rating because you disagree with it.
  • We will not take content down in exchange for commercial consideration, and offers to do so will be declined and may be published.
  • If we’ve made an error that materially affected your score, we re-run the affected part of the rubric and publish the corrected score with a note.

Old content

Reviews of casinos that have closed, lost their licence or exited the UK market are marked with a prominent banner and removed from all rankings, but stay accessible. Historic offers that have expired are labelled as expired rather than deleted.

Our record

[Optional but strongly recommended: publish a public corrections log at /corrections-log listing every correction made, with dates. Almost no affiliate site does this. It is the single most credible trust signal available to you, and it costs nothing but discipline.]
